Words

The word whether written, spoken, sang, signed, or unspoken, the word is important. Words convey caring, hatred, anger, concern, inspiration, and love. And it also can incite the same. Words can describe things found in nature or create imaginary images. Words can be lies or the truth. They can harm or be of great importance.

For those who write, we understand why we hate words and love them just the same. We understand some will like the words we use while others will criticize them. Some words we cannot pronounce correctly and more we can’t spell.

Words are important but more than that, I believe your words are important. Say them, write them, sing them, or sign them. Let them be heard.

Here are some words from some known people.

“By words we learn thoughts, and by thoughts we learn life.” --Jean Baptiste Girard

“So difficult it is to show the various meanings and imperfections of words when we have nothing else but words to do it with.” --John Locke

“Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out the wrong words.” --Mark Twain

“Don’t forget – no one else sees the world the way you do, so no one else can tell the stories that you have to tell.” --Charles de Lint

“Description begins in the writer’s imagination but should finish in the reader’s.” --Stephen King

And my favorite:

“Sometimes only paper will listen to you.”
