Draws A Crowd

An earlier post was about the Honey Hunters in Nepal. As I was looking into these brave gatherers, I came across something a little more local and better known, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey. I went to the JD website and gleamed this history from it.

Jasper Newton Daniel was the founder and he learned his craft from Reverend Dan Call and an enslaved man, Nathan “Nearest” Green, who became the first master distiller for Jack Daniel. According to a CBS news story in 2017 three living Green descendants still work at the distillery. Today there is a whiskey brand named after Uncle Nearest.

In 2011 Jack Daniel’s introduced its first flavored whiskey, Tennessee Honey. A blend of Old No. 7 whiskey and honey liqueur that they make.

Cream Studios did an ad campaign for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey. From their website is the text explaining their promotion.

“To promote the new Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Whiskey, Arnold Furnace created a great 3D campaign. After creating the Jack Daniel's bottle, glass and ice in 3D, our CGI artists began to construct the miniature people for placement on the bottle. Once a number of different models were developed and features added to differentiate each 3D individual, our CGI team positioned the people around the bottle to look like a swarm of bees. Lastly, we added in extra elements like a BBQ, balloons, and speakers to create a party atmosphere.”

Very cool and very creative.
