Art has many forms and meanings. It also has many mediums. I’ve seen art made out of the graphite on the point of a pencil, spilled liquid, and 3D chalk art on the sidewalk so real. Right down to the foam in your latte if the barista is artsy.
And then I came across Simon Beck. With snowshoes, a ski pole, and a few other items Simon looks for large areas of virgin snow and then he starts walking and creating, his step just another chisel in the white marble, per se.
As you can see from the photo, these are large and detailed. There is an interview on My Modern Met website done by Sara Barnes who goes over a lot of the process of how he creates such beauty. Photos are those of Simon Beck. There is a published pocketbook by Simon Beck of his Snow Art that can be found on Amazon.
